Good design is not building fancy facades. It is how organisations make better decisions — the right thing to make, at the right moment.

Introduction
Senior Product Designer with 10+ years of experience shaping complex B2B and B2C products, from discovery to scalable platforms. Strong in turning ambiguous business needs into clear product direction, simplifying complex systems, and aligning cross-functional teams. Fluent in English, German, and Chinese; conversational in Dutch.
Empathy
Builds the foundation
Products begin with deep understanding of people in real systems — not personas, but actual constraints, motivations, and gaps.
Clarity
Creates value
Bringing structure to fragmented information is an act of creation. The most valuable design work is often invisible.
Constraints
Drive innovation
Limitations are where the most meaningful design begins. Every real product is shaped by what it cannot do.
Bridging strategy and engineering
When executive direction meets technical constraints, I reframe around the core problem — and re-align both sides on a solution that works.
Building design culture from scratch
At ReSource I established principles, interaction patterns, and a full design system — not as deliverables, but as shared tools for decision-making.
Growing designers and design literacy
Mentored junior designers through 1:1s and design reviews. Ran internal seminars introducing design thinking, mental models, and design systems to cross-functional teams — raising design maturity beyond the design function itself.
Clients & Partners
"What stood out most about Jing was her ability to create clarity in highly complex environments. She consistently transformed fragmented requirements, competing priorities, and technical constraints into structured product solutions that teams could align around and execute effectively."
Pavel Tsedenov — CEO, ReSource Sustainable Technologies B.V.
Enterprise Platform
Redesign
2025–2026 · Amsterdam
Drove the redesign of an enterprise EV battery supply chain platform, defining a scalable UX foundation from scratch. Joined as sole IC designer with no existing design system, principles, or structured process — and built all three while shaping product strategy alongside leadership.

Reusable interaction patterns
The Challenge
ReSource 2.0 needed to support increasing customer complexity, EU battery passport mandates, and more advanced operational workflows — with no prior design foundation, system, or principles in place.
My Approach
I began by understanding the platform as a data trust network at a systems level. Before designing any screens I structured the product across 4 core modules and defined reusable interaction patterns to create an enterprise-grade interaction language.
Key Decision
Ran a live workshop mapping the solution space for supplier disclosure settings — generating working prototypes in Figma Make on the spot — allowing the full team to align the same day without lengthy back-and-forth.
Outcome
Platform structured and ready for larger enterprise customers. Battery passport and EU compliance workflows fully designed. Design system enables faster, consistent delivery. Cross-functional alignment and decision-making measurably improved.

Modernised SwissLife's insurance consultancy process — replacing static PDFs and Excel tables with an interactive, data-connected tool that thinks alongside consultants during live customer conversations across 12 product topics.

Sales experts involved in research
The Challenge
Consultants navigated 12 distinct product topics using printed materials in high-stakes live conversations. Expert knowledge was locked in senior staff and nearly impossible to transfer to new hires at scale.
My Approach
Rather than digitising the paper process, I ran dedicated discovery workshops with consultants as co-designers — mapping how they thought, not just what they communicated. Reframed the brief: design a thinking tool for a two-person conversation.
Key Decision
Built a unified system architecture with shared navigation and a common data flow across all 12 modules. Used Opportunity-Solution-Tree format weekly to keep business goals, user feedback, and engineering constraints in view simultaneously.
Outcome
A shared language between consultants and customers that did not exist before. Complex financial products made legible for customers to engage with and decide on. New hire onboarding time reduced — consultant expertise embedded in the tool itself.
Accessibility-First

Designed Germany's first stadium accessibility app covering all 56 Bundesliga stadiums — providing real-time barrier-free information for fans with visual, hearing, mobility, and cognitive differences.

Bundesliga app built to full WCAG
The Challenge
Designing for users whose needs are fundamentally different — a fan with visual impairment, a wheelchair user, a deaf fan, and a fan with cognitive differences all need the same information, but in entirely different forms.
My Approach
Onboarding asks users to declare their disability type — one decision that cascades through the entire experience. Structured the app around the fan's journey rather than venue features, reducing cognitive effort for time-critical information.
Key Decision
WCAG 4.5:1 contrast built as a baseline — not a retrofit. Designed Einfache Sprache (simplified language) mode in 20+ hours of workshops with language experts to ensure full accessibility for fans with cognitive differences.
Outcome
Accessibility guidelines established as reference for all future DFL digital products. This project fundamentally shaped how I approach information structure, language decisions, and what "done" means in every product since.

MVP

Automated Beiersdorf's volunteer management for product tests — replacing paper-heavy and phone-based manual processes with a digital MVP integrated into existing data systems, iteratively improved on user feedback.

Sheets of paper eliminated
4,500
Minutes of phone calls saved
The Challenge
Beiersdorf needed to automate volunteer management for product tests, reducing manual effort. The existing process was heavily reliant on paper and phone calls, with no integration between data systems.
Outcome
The MVP reduced the need for 300,000 sheets of paper and saved over 4,500 minutes of phone calls by 2023, setting a clear direction for future product scaling. Available on both App Store and Google Play.
"AI doesn't replace design judgment — it compresses the distance between thinking and making. That compression changes what's possible in a workshop, a sprint, and a product."
I've followed AI since 2017 — starting with image recognition and machine learning fundamentals. When large language models emerged, I studied the underlying papers to understand the architecture, not just the interface. Today I embed AI across my entire design workflow — from ideation and research through to prototyping and documentation.
In 2023 — before the mainstream hype — I wrote about what AI could mean for UX design practice.
Ideation & Research
Shared Claude projects with my team to quickly surface information and explore concepts together — especially useful when working as an IC without a large design team.
Vibe Coding & Prototyping
I use Figma Make and Claude Code to generate functional prototypes rapidly — sometimes live during workshops, producing working versions of different solution options on the spot for immediate alignment.
Design System as AI Input
Our design system documentation is built in Markdown and fed into the AI environment, so generated prototypes automatically follow our visual and interaction language.
Writing & Documentation
AI helps summarise user interviews, extract insights from Miro boards, write up design decisions, and prepare tickets — important work that's easy to deprioritise under time pressure.
