CHA β€” the tea table

← Back to the Portfolio

I developed this CHAβ€” the tea table for the Becker Contest. The Becker Brakel company is one the biggest manufacturers of molded wood worldwide. The aim of the contest was to explore more possibilities with this material. After brainstorming with my colleagues and professors, I decided to develop furniture from cultural as well as ecological perspectives.

Tea culture started in Asia and spread all over the world. To feel the nature, to enjoy the peace, and to share the happiness with friends is the essence of tea culture, and this is also the spirit that CHA β€” the tea table transmits. Unlike the traditional solid wood, the formed plywood is easier to produce and all in all saves the precious forest resources.
