Politics and design are related, either directly or indirectly. In this research paper, the lines are drawn between the very different political events and the design icons (graphic, product and media etc.). The aim is to study and visualize how politics and design inter-effect each other in post-1970s in China.
Transparent papers are used to achieve a montage effect, and to show the timeline of the stories. Through the stories of objects, it should become obvious how the Chinese people struggled and still are struggling to cope with the contradictions, and how they try to understand the idea of being “Chinese”.
